Expat services in Geneva
Geneva is one of the most international cities in Europe — roughly 40 percent of the canton's residents hold foreign nationality, and the proportion is higher still among the working population. This concentration has produced a mature ecosystem of services dedicated to the practical reality of moving to and settling in Switzerland: permit applications, housing search, school enrolment, banking setup, insurance, tax registration, and the dozens of smaller administrative steps that punctuate the first year.
Most relocations to Geneva fall into one of three patterns: employer-sponsored moves linked to a specific company assignment, often with a corporate relocation package; appointments to one of the international organisations (UN, WHO, WTO, ILO, IOM, and others) with their own permit regime (Carte de Légitimation) and tax arrangements; and self-directed moves by individuals or families relocating their tax residence to Switzerland, sometimes with a forfait fiscal arrangement.
This section covers immigration and permits (B, C, Ci, L, G, Carte de Légitimation), relocation assistance for end-to-end coordination, and language exchange for integration into French-speaking life.
